Trigger Flow Webhooks within Shopify Flow

In this article we want to show you how to use our new Flow Webhooks Action called "Trigger Webhook".

With this action, you can trigger a Webhook you created from within the Shopify Flow App.

Imagine you have a webhook, you want to trigger from external. In this flow you want to trigger another webhook and so another flow. It is no problem now with our new Action for Shopify Flow. Feel free to try it out.

Important notes

  • Flow App ignores authentication on your target webhook. It is still recommended to use authentication, because otherwise the webhook could potentially be called from outside attackers.
  • When you run a flow where you call the "Trigger Webhook" action, it counts toward your 30d limit of invocations.

Example

  1. Create Trigger Webhook

The trigger webhook is our webhook we use to trigger a flow in which we want to use the "Trigger Webhook" action.

  1. Create Receiver Webhook

The receiver webhook is called from the "Trigger Webhook" action.

  1. Build two Flows

3.1 Trigger Flow

As you can see in the screenshot, in our new Action you can map the four values and select the webhook you want to trigger from a configuration page.

3.2 Receiver Flow

In our receiver flow we then just print all variables to test everything out.

Feel free to try it out. For any questions dont hesitate to contact us via e-mail, chat or slack.
